Kinderstart
Hazelwood Elementary KinderStart Program 2020-21
Due to School Closures for COVID 19 our first session will not be going ahead on Friday, February 26th. We will be in contact with families once we have further direction regarding school reopening and KinderStart protocols.
Due to COVID 19 protocols some things will have to be done a little differently for KinderStart sessions this year. Please note the following:
In the coming weeks we will share a photo tour of our school for your family to view together.
All classroom sessions will be for students only. Parents/caregivers are to remain in the gymnasium where the parent sessions will take place. We will meet in the gym at the start of each session. Please enter through the main entrance next to the gym.
Only one family member/caregiver per student may attend KinderStart sessions and no siblings will be permitted.
All students and the parent/caregiver will use hand sanitizer while entering the school as well as entering and exiting the learning spaces.
Parents/Caregivers will be required to wear masks while inside school.
Students in K-6 do not have to wear masks inside the school.
Students should bring a pair of indoor shoes to change into.
Some students may not be able to complete a classroom session without parent/caregiver in-class support. In the event that a student is not able to continue in the classroom, the student will be reunited with their parent/caregiver in the parent/caregiver session. If the student is able to return to the classroom without parent/caregiver support, they may.
We ask that all Parents/Caregivers remain in the school during Kinderstart Sessions.
COVID 19 pre-screening must be completed by students and the parent/caregiver each time they visit the school. Please use the screening tool provided in this package.
